where is freedom

POETRY

Its a same night when I cannot sleep,
I can hear the bullets firing every now and then,
I don’t know how I m gonna survive, I m losing all my strength,
I was holding a gun instead of a pillow,
I was having just a sheet where the temperature is zero degree below,
Most of the Indians didn’t know about Kargil before,
Most of them can’t even imagine our pain and sore.

I remembered, I was celebrating my birthday party with my wife and mom,
And I got this call when I was at home,
Some of the terrorists have crossed the border,
I have to cancel my holidays which was an order.
The very next day I was holding my gun and waiting for instructions,
Our regiments had brought all the weapons for mass destructions.

I have seen deaths, I have seen pain.
The war was always like hell, I never liked this game.
India got freedom long back ago,
I want to be with my family, I want to see my children grow.
Throughout our life we fought for the country,
But after retirement there is again one more journey.
We have to again fight for our pension plan.
We have to again fight for inflation and demand.
Before dying I want to ask you one question.
If India is free then where is freedom...?
