There is no moment of human vulnerability quite as poignant as the arrival of lukewarm catering samosas at a 4:30 PM retrospective meeting that could have been an asynchronous Slack message.
We all know the choreography:
- The engineer who silently takes two samosas while pretending to review a pull request.
- The product manager who uses the phrase "let's double-click on that synergy" with absolute sincerity.
- The scrum master who solemnly moves a virtual sticky note two millimeters to the right.
"If you stare at your screen with your chin resting on your hand, people will assume you are contemplating distributed consensus rather than deciding what to order for dinner."
