Night Must Fall

Night Must Fall

The crickets chirp and the owls hoot
Bats fly and creepy crawlies come out
The sky blinks for the last time
And the sun gets its shuteye
For night must fall.

The bloodshot sky shuts its lids
Darkness overcomes its pupil
No light illuminates its soul
Darkness renews its vitality
For night must fall.

The crickets chirp and the owls hoot
Bats fly and creepy crawlies come out
The sky blinks for the last time
And the sun gets its shuteye
For night must fall.

Stars hang in the dark sky
Sparkle do they as they soothe the bloodshot sky
They point the way for the moon
To relieve the sun as it rests behind its lids
For night must fall

The crickets chirp and the owls hoot
Bats fly and creepy crawlies come out
The sky blinks for the last time
And the sun gets its shuteye
For night must fall.

Round and round the sun goes
The sky yawns and the sky stretches its limbs
The holes and tree barks welcome back the creepy crawlies
The blood slowly drains from the sky
For day surely follows the night.
